SLA 092 – Loch Ryan View of Ailsa Craig
An oil painting of Loch Ryan in the Rhins of Galloway looking up to the majestic granite rock of Ailsa Craig. Created on a 30cm x 30cm canvas board. Inspired by an image captured by the very talented Mark at Scarlett Visuals based in Stranraer.
SLA 087 – Ailsa Craig at Harvest
Painted on a small 20cm x 20cm stretched canvas and gifted to the Hansel Foundation to hang in their Annual Art Exhibition and Sale.
SLA 083 – Culzean Castle
Created on a small 20cm x 20cm canvas board for a client who wished to have the majestic Culzean Castle painted in purple hues (my favourite colour).
SLA 082 – Ashieburn Lodge
An oil painting commission on a 30cm x 30cm canvas board of Ashieburn Cottage near Ancrum in the Borders. I loved the soft warm palette of this one and the daffodils in flower.
SLA 079 – Wigtown Bay
An oil painting on 30cm x 30cm canvas board of a view I enjoyed on a walk during the first frosty day of Winter 2022 along the old railway line at the foot of Wigtown town looking across Wigtown Bay to Creetown.

SLA 063 – Crichton Church
An oil commission of The Crichton Church in Dumfries and I particularly enjoyed painting the background with the River Nith winding below Criffel. It was a deep edged canvas which can be hung straight on the wall unframed. I painted the edges in a dark grey.
SLA 062 – Bruce’s Stone
Bruce’s Stone at Glentrool captured on a deep edged stretched canvas in oil paint as a commission for an office wall. The stone commemorates Robert The Bruce, King of Scotland and the Battle of Trool in 1307.
SLA 061 – Pladda Lighthouse
A gorgeous spot on the south coast of Arran by Kildonan, looking out over Pladda lighthouse and the northern side of Ailsa Craig in the distance. If you haven't been to Arran, get the ferry booked. It's like Scotland in miniature and I love it.

I loved painting this scene in Dumfries and Galloway with the mist rolling through the valleys and Drumlanrig Castle peeping out in all it's glory. Painted in oil on a deep edged canvas.
SLA 054 – Fishing by Ailsa Craig
Back to beautiful Ailsa Craig and the customer wanted a fishing theme represented in the artwork. This boat was most likely from the Girvan harbour. Painted in water mixable oil on a deep edged canvas ready to hang.

SLA 048 – Isle of Arran Panorama
A large commission 1m wide of the Isle of Arran from the North Ayrshire coastline. The highest peak is Goatfell at 874m and is one of four Corbetts on the island.
SLA 034 – Culzean Castle Caves
Venturing below the cliffs at Culzean you discover the secret caves used as a smuggling hideaway. I had a lot of fun creating this mixed media piece using tissue paper, gesso and cling film to develop the texture under the acrylic ink.

SLA 020 – Reflective Culzean
The dramatic view of cliff-top Culzean Castle as seen from Croy beach. I love this painting, it's one of my favourites as I enjoyed creating the soft reflections in the sea water below. This artwork is now proudly hanging on a wall in Canada.
SLA 017 – Cliffside Cottage
In 2018 I was introduced to acrylic ink and had some right old fun playing around with the ink on different textures such as gesso, tissue paper and masking fluid. I also took some sand paper to it to create the cracking effect.
