Settling in to Wigtownshire

Jun 24, 2022

At long last we have moved into Dumfries & Galloway and our 150 year old stone cottage between Kirkcowan and Wigtown.

My husband and I have been busy bees; unpacking boxes, resolving a BT service, sorting a tv signal, designing a new front door, securing a tree surgeon, touching up the interior decor and sourcing a dry stone dyker.

Excitingly I have also secured an Ayrshire company to supply and install a new garden room as my art studio!

We are finally making it ours and it feels like home, where we can enjoy the new countryside views and wildlife visitors.

With one new bird of prey to add to our garden bird list and that’s the soaring red kites we see overhead regularly.

The covering image I designed for our new home cards, using a watercolour painting I commissioned from my friend Helen at Polbeck Art.
